January 6- On the last day of the Dakar Lima Fair, the exit podium was held. That afternoon was full of joy and fun, where the pilots greeted the audience with great emotion. One of them was Ashley García, co-pilot of Sports Wevers Team. Garcia told the entire audience that he was living a dream. Going down from the podium, we talked with Ashley and he told us the following.

“I’m very excited, you feel the affection of the people. I am fulfilling a dream and I feel the support of my entire country. I just want to tell all Peruvians that if they propose something, they can achieve it. I believe that no Peruvian has to envy anything to a foreigner and that I am demonstrating here”.

Next,Erik Wevers also commented on the euphoria for the party before the Dakar.

“It’s very good to be back in Lima, I already have experience in this competition and being here excites me. If you observe there are many people waiting to see the show. For us as a team it is really good, “added the Dutch driver.

In that way, the pilot and his navigator of the Sports Wevers team, star living the toughest test in the automotive world.

Given this, the great controversy caused by the large number of dunes, in the 41st edition of the Dakar rally, was relieved by Ashley Garcia.

“All the Dakar pilots say the hardest land of the competition will be the dunes. However, it is the land where I feel most comfortable; As long as you know how to take the vehicle. I believe that the dunes of a fairly competitive convenience, that I have a lot of experience in them and all the knowledge that I am transferring to Erick for the best development of the race, “said the co-pilot.

Also,Wevers pointed out the main challenge in this competition.

“From my point of view, the most difficult stage will be the day before the break.The organization of the Dakar has been treated, for many years, making a change in the rally. Considering this, it is considered as the toughest rally raid in the world.
